44 – We’re back! Fritz Coleman, 2 weeks shy of 40 years on the air as a weatherman.

Fritz talks about how he got his start as a weatherman! He came here in 1980 and was doing a show at the Comedy Store. Afterwards, he met with a new director and auditioned and got it as a relief/vacation fill in. Shortly after, he was the full time NBC weather guy here in Los Angeles.

Fritz talks about Jay Leno saying he couldn’t be a comedian and a weatherman. It’s one or the other. Fritz (and many others) proved him wrong.

50 – Charo is 73 – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charo

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xavier_Cugat

Apparently, there is controversy about Charo’s age. Per Wikipedia: Charo’s year of birth is the subject of dispute. Her Spanish birth certificate and passport, as well as her American naturalization papers, give her birthdate as March 13, 1941. She later claimed she was born in 1947, then changed it to 1949. In 1977, she asserted in a court hearing that her passport and naturalization papers were incorrect and that her birthdate was January 15, 1951.
